The Cariboo Heights Housing Co-operative’s goal is to foster the development of a community where its’ Members share a commitment to work together and to contribute toward the safety, security and well-being of all of its’ Members, while still being responsible and exercising foresight in making decisions for the continued benefit and health of the Co-op as a whole. We vow to develop and maintain a long-term plan, thus ensuring our Co-op is financially, structurally and environmentally sustainable.
We will work together toward the common goal of creating a clean, friendly and well-run home and living space, it is in our power to determine its’ character and its’ future by our contribution – by making good decisions, abiding by the decisions made by the majority and by helping in any other way we can. Membership will assist in Co-op duties and responsibilities by acquiring the necessary skills to take their turn on the Board and Committees in order to make informed decisions, assess means, establish priorities and direct the business of the Co-op.
We will strive to keep our housing affordable for all Members, while realizing as our Co-op ages we will need to allocate resources to activities that will contribute to our homes and maintaining a strong, cohesive co-op community. We understand that to be successful we must generate revenue through housing charges and invest in the future of our homes and Co-op when it is asked.
